This lesson sequence commences with a fun and high energy brainstorming game to encourage divergent thinking (or in design thinking terms, practising the art of “flaring”), before moving into a science-backed activity that incorporates De Bono’s 6 Thinking Hats and introduces two practical ways to foster healthy development of empathy in young people: perspective-taking and experience
-sharing.
