Exponential technologies have the capacity to catapult and accelerate our learning and work experiences today and into the future. But to unleash their true potential, we’ll need people from all backgrounds to work collaboratively, sharing collective knowledge and expertise to design with the human learner in mind. Lindsay Rattray, is a leader in education technology, with international experience in digital transformation, technology-powered education innovation, and EdTech startups. In his conversation with Mariane, co-founder of the Posify Group, he shares insights on how we can utilize tech to improve student engagement through the human principles of curiosity, creativity, connection and belonging.
About Lindsay
Lindsay Rattray is a leader in education technology, with international experience in digital transformation, technology-powered education innovation, and EdTech startups. Most recently, Lindsay co-founded ClassCom, a successful AI-powered chatbot-for-education to better connect students and their teachers.
Lindsay’s teaching qualifications include a Master of Learning Sciences and Technology from Sydney University, where he produced a thesis that investigated how Classroom Response Systems affect engagement in first year computer science lectures. He also holds bachelor’s degrees in Arts, majoring in History, and Computer Science, from Monash University.
With classroom teaching experience in Syria, Sydney, and Melbourne, Lindsay’s understanding of learning is built from a deep understanding of learning practice, theory, technology design, and UX. His TEDx talk ‘What Can Technology Help us Learn?’ is just one example of his contribution to the global discussion on technology-powered change in education. He also edited the TEL Edvisor technology-enhanced learning practitioner blog during its heyday. He has led significant, positive changes to the education experience of international students, first-in-family university students, and online-only students at Monash College, Navitas, Victoria University, and Online Education Services.
Lindsay is in his happy place when the worlds of learning, technology and design collide, and believes it is our responsibility to make sure technology makes education reach more people with greater impact.
